Not all scholarship events are managed by the USBC SMART program. The SMART program sends out statements annually to scholarship recipients to let them know how much money they have holding. If you don't receive an annual letter from your tournament club or from the tournament director, keep your records in order so that you don't get short changed and ask or remind them about it too. Some tournaments / leagues will hold your funds until the age of 25 and some until 21. If you are close to that age, make sure that you keep in communication with them so that you don't lose your funds from negligence. Your information of address, phone, etc. is also very important. Younger bowlers who earn scholarships and who won't use the funds for many years, may move to another location and be lost from contact. That scholarship fund might get lost too, unless you forward your new information to those tournament directors. How would they know whether or not you have since moved?
